Our Solution
Oya is the UK’s first money transfer service designed exclusively for the over one million people of Nigerian heritage who call the UK home. Founded with a vision of making sending money to Nigeria faster, fairer and safer 24/7 using a simple mobile app. Oya was developed in partnership with Wema Bank, our Nigerian partner, under a licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Offering market beating rates, a fair and transparent flat fee, instant transfer delivery and real time notifications to keep track of your money throughout the process.
Our Approach
We started on this journey with a simple idea that we wanted to build the best money transfer service for the Nigerian community in the UK by working together with the community. Oya wouldn’t be Oya without the help of our ‘co-founders’, members of the Nigerian community who came on the journey with us and helped us to shape Oya into what it is today. From helping us to create the ‘Oya’ brand, suggesting features and testing the app, or simply sharing tips on where to find the best Suya in town, we couldn’t have done it without them.
